Still no definitive guidance from the LTA as to whether or not we can re-introduce Club Sessions from 29th March. Current guidelines appear to say that ‘organised play’ does include Club Nights. However there appear to be two stumbling blocks:
- Do places on a Club Session have to be booked?
- Does someone (most likely a Committee member have to be present to organise)?
We still have a couple of weeks before play can restart, so we await further clarification. The slight problem we have is that the new Booking System allows courts to be booked 14 days in advance – so we don’t know whether to block out courts for Club Sessions or leave them free for members to book.
Based on the information we have available right now, the safest thing to do seems to be to leave the courts free for members to book. So we carry on where we left off, with arranged singles and doubles.
If anybody wants a game and doesn’t have the contacts to fix up a game, then drop the club an email, and we will do our best to arrange something.
