Carpinus betulus (Hornbeams to anyone without a degree in horticulture, botany or latin) are proving to be a bit of a problem for the club and the LTA.  In order to get good visibility between the clubhouse and courts 5 & 6, the hornbeams are going to have to be removed.  It is all to do with ‘Safeguarding’.  The LTA’s safeguarding requirements mean that coaching of juniors (and vulnerable adults) should take place where there is good visibility between the clubhouse and the courts.  Current expectation is that this work will happen mid to late July.
