Ally Weir has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Services to Avon Tennis. Congratulations Ally! For the last 12 years she has been the Results Secretary for Avon Tennis. There always seems to be a league of some description going on, and apparently that 12 years has covered 41 different league competitions. Thornbury [...]
Following the successful regeneration of courts 1 to 4, Brian (with a bit of help from his son) has created this stunning masterpiece. It is rather a large file, so could take some time to load. Viewing is not recommended unless you are on an unlimited data contract!

October 5th saw the club host Pam Forrest's excellent annual Cancer Research Tournament. All good fun, an excellent time had by all, and £855 raised for a very good cause. Well done Pam, and thanks to everyone who took part.

The road works on Kington Lane appear to be ahead of schedule. Contractors expect to complete the job and leave by Friday 13th August. Even though work is ongoing, the road is now open on evenings, and will be open all day from Saturday 7th August.
And the winner was ... the weather. Tennis was played between the showers, but not of the deadly serious competition variety. After a couple of sets the heavens opened - at one point courts 1-4 looked to be totally underwater. Still, every cloud and all that. The silver lining was provided by Linda's excellent chicken [...]
