Courts 1 to 4 video

Following the successful regeneration of courts 1 to 4, Brian (with a bit of help from his son) has created this stunning masterpiece.  It is rather a large file, so could take some time to load.  Viewing is not recommended unless you are on an unlimited data contract!

Changes to Seating Arrangements

There have been complaints that there is a shortage of places where players can rest their feet in order to tie up troublesome laces.  Brian has the answer to this problem, and (with help from Carl doing the concrete bases) has installed four superb benches which are exactly the right height for tying your shoelaces [...]

Floodlight Upgrade Complete – Thanks to Enovert

The first phase of the upgrade program for courts 1 to 4 was completed on schedule in April 2022.  The Treasurer is delighted with this for two reasons: We can now illuminate all four courts for as much as it cost us previously to illuminate just one.  (approx £1.70 per hour). Stream Clearing

Saturday November 6th saw a good turnout for what is pretty much the Annual Stream Clearing exercise. The way this works is that the chaps stand around drinking coffee while the ladies do all the work.  Don't believe it?  The photos don't lie.     Many thanks to all who helped, and particularly to Di [...]

President’s Plate 2021

And the winner was ...  the weather. Tennis was played between the showers, but not of the deadly serious competition variety.  After a couple of sets the heavens opened - at one point courts 1-4 looked to be totally underwater. Still, every cloud and all that.  The silver lining was provided by Linda's excellent chicken [...]

Carpinus Betulus

Carpinus betulus (Hornbeams to anyone without a degree in horticulture, botany or latin) are proving to be a bit of a problem for the club and the LTA.  In order to get good visibility between the clubhouse and courts 5 & 6, the hornbeams are going to have to be removed.  It is all to [...]
