Kington Lane (from Castle Street to the Mundy Playing Fields car park entrance) is likely to be closed to all traffic from 29th of March for four days. It should still be possible to access the car park from the Kington direction, but for most members that is quite a detour. So it might be quicker just to park in Thornbury and take a brisk stroll across Mundy’s.
The reason for the closure is because exploratory drilling is to be carried out in order to determine the best way of replacing a water main. And when they do get round to making the actual replacement, we can expect the road to be closed for 6-8 weeks. No news yet on when that might be.
